"KNOWLEDGE IS POWER"....)

Knowledge is power whether the power which knowledge gives be used for good or for evil. For example, by the medical knowledge, the doctors can cure diseases and save his patients life. But at the same time, the black mailer by his knowledge of some guilty secrets can bleed his victim white under the threat of disclosure. in general the man who knows has an advantage over the man who doesn't knows. In this way, the educated classes have always been able to rule over the ignorant.

During the middle ages in Europe, the only educated men were the priests. Great barons, brave knights, kings and ruling princes very often could not even read and write. Kings had to appoint priests as their ministers.

In Europe and America, today education is so wide spread that even the domestics and the working classes are educated people. As they have advanced in knowledge the common people have advanced in power. So in the great democracies the people now rule them selves and are no longer under the domination of priests and kings. Physically, man is a comparatively weak animal.

"PROVERBS"
  1. Power always corrupts.
  2. Patience and gentleness speak of power.
  3. Knowledge is no burden.
  4. Knowledge is silent, ignorance is talkative.
Hope you will take knowledge a serious matter.

Thank you.

"MORE ABOUT EXAM FEVER.................." checkout......

People say, “They are essential evils”. They are necessary since till now no other alternative method has been adopted universally and Evils because most people shiver by it’s name. Come EXAMS and many hearts skip a beat, students get anxious and spend sleepless nights. Not only students many adults suffer from exam phobia. They may be excellent at their work but when asked to prove their prowess through an examination, often they falter showing their vulnerability towards exams and exam related stress.

Competition has become an inseparable part of our lives and it is the fear of this competition that leaves us feeling unhappy, paranoid and worried. The fear of being put to test can be quite stressful for many people. This affects them adversely and they fail to perform to the best of their ability.

Students who do not regularly indulge in physical exercises or meditation are advised to bring about a slight change in their daily routine at least 1 month prior to their exams. Try to wake up as early as possible based on your sleeping habits. Then for half an hour sit quietly with your legs folded and close your eyes. Forget everything and concentrate on your papers/subjects you’ll be appearing for in the forthcoming exams. Try to evaluate your position, how much portion of your studies you have completed and how much is yet to be finished. Then decide which topics you want to complete on that day. For half an hour, you should not think of anything but studies. This will serve a dual purpose. First of all, for half an hour you focus remains on your exams only, serving the purpose of meditation. Since meditation is nothing but keeping your focus on one particular thing and forgetting the rest. Many people find it hard to meditate since their mind is always thinking about multiple things at a time. They find it hard to concentrate on any one thing even for half an hour. Secondly, since you are thinking of your studies only, mentally you are devising a target which you intend to achieve on that day. This helps to plan your studies daily.

  • Mock Tests are indeed helpful, since Practice makes man Perfect. Even if you are not taking any mock tests, you should try to simulate one. Spare some time in-between your studies and try to imagine the day of your exam. Think of all the necessary things you need to carry with yourself to the examination centre say for example, admit card, pen, pencils, erasers, geometrical instruments (if any) etc. Then imagine yourself to be at the examination hall. You should be very careful while writing your Roll No./Registration No. on you answer sheets. Try to imagine all these things, and also the question paper pattern. If you are aware of the pattern, then try to imagine how you would be attempting the questions, which section would you start off with etc. Apart from these, also think of the situation where you find a drastic change in the question pattern, or a sharp increase in the difficulty level of the paper. You must also imagine these types of adverse situations and what you should do if such a situation occurs. Simulating these virtual situations in your mind makes you more tenacious and less vulnerable to harsh situations. Also you know how to act if such a situation befalls
  • Remember, there is no short cut to success. However, for those late birds, the above practices would surely help them a lot, if followed truly for at least a month prior to the exams. If followed regularly, there is no doubt that you’ll reap richer benefits. Self Improvement:

"EXAM FEVER".......

Here comes the  EXAM TIME and students start getting anxious and spend sleepless nights worrying about the coming exams. Exams may be anxiety provoking for some people. Students may worry about an exam for days before it is to take place and/or during the exam, when tackling the examination they may experience negative thoughts and unpleasant physical symptoms which prevent them from performing to the best of their ability.

Students, Just Relax ! NO NEED TO Worry.... It is wise to remember that exams are not here as punishment. Instead, they are a good way of testing to see how much information you have learned.
Examinations test a student's knowledge and understanding of a particular subject. They bring questions from an entire module together in a challenging environment.

Whether you are taking the Board Exams or forthcoming Medical Entrance Test or appearing for any other Entrance Exam, Don't you worry. Just follow these simple tips to overcome Exam fever.
Don't get over anxious: It never helps. Think of all the exams you have faced so far and how you have overcome your fears. Visualize the worst that can happen and then think positive.

Talk over your anxieties to your parents, friends etc and get it out of your chest periodically. At the same time, talk about the subjects you are good in and the chapters you are well prepared in.
Gain confidence in subjects you know best: by completing the revision and writing notes, especially to a family member or answering mock tests. Make brief points to refer just before the exams.

Fix time and place: Make sure that your study has no disturbance. Move away from that place when you need to take breaks. Take them frequently by structuring your time schedule. Every time you feel fresh, study the difficult or boring subjects first for a few minutes and then move on to easy ones.

Exercise and recreation: are as important as studies and they help you concentrate better. Don't reduce your sleep drastically. Your body needs it.

Avoid repetitive reading: If you are unable to remember, break up the chapter into points and sub points and try and remember each sub point.

Do mock tests: periodically, especially in difficult subjects.Rest, eat good food and freshen up: especially on the morning of your exam. It is a better way to face them than last minute cramming.

On the day of the exam: Relax, Remember God is Incharge....Reduce stress, sleep well, eat well and go early. Do discuss with your friends what you have prepared and what you have not.

"Have confidence, you will do well. Believe in yourself."

BSS SPRING CARNIVAL 2011

On 19 of February Beacon House School System Middle Branch held a spring carnival. It was actually held so that the school could earn money for charity. Everyone participated enthusiastically. People and students enjoyed a lot. Every stall had games and food. There were a lot of activities and I was overjoyed when I saw that the school had maintained it very well and the best part was nobody was pressurized to buy or play games. No one complained about any thing where as everyone said it was awesome. In the end we would like to quote a famous saying that is “hard work is never wasted where as it as well gives a lesson and an experience too”. The bottom line is that the entire school worked really hard and the result came as a mind blowing one but because nothing is perfect except God, we hope that in the next event the lacking would be surely over comed.
